“Life is not about holding good cards, but sometimes, playing a poor hand well.” Jack London

This my favourite quotation of all time. It says a lot about me and the way I think.

I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 1988. At that time there was no cause, no cure and no treatment; to this day the cause is not known and there is no cure. Well if the cause is not known a cure is impossible to find. Treatments are now available that claim to slow progression of the disease. Modern thinking is that it is better to start treatment early which was not an option in my own case.

The hand of cards I was dealt was not particularly good and there is no re-deal in the game of life, so I have had to play with poor cards. I have played them as good as I can and even if I say so myself I haven’t played badly. I’m still in the game and hope to be for some time to come
