More Lip Service – Costa Coffee, Mallow

Just had a cuppa in Costa Coffee in Mallow with Jean. There is plenty of on-street parking nearby with a number of designated spaces. The tea and muffin were lovely. The staff were efficient and friendly. I checked the Disabled toilet and it was clean and tidy but when I tried to close the door from the inside it was impossible. A bit of privacy when one is doing one’s business is greatly appreciated. I wiggled and tried to fit in but failed and another customer offered to help me. I pointed out the problem to a staff member who accepted the criticism and apologised for the shortcoming. The matter could be easily resolved by having an outward opening door. Again the theory of a wheelchair accessible toilet didn’t match with the actual.
