The International Airport Hotel, Cork – Replied

I am happy to print the reply received from the hotel in case some of my readers don’t look at the comments under the original post.

Mr. Groeger,

Thank you for taking the time to comment  on our wheelchair accessible car parking. We appreciate the feedback and will immediately look at improving signage to these spaces.

We have 10 accessible car parking space located in the Car Park which is located on the right hand side of the hotel. This happens to be named the Long Term Car Park so it is identifiable for the guests who use our Stay, Park & Fly package. Unlike our airports this does not mean that this car park is located further from the main entrance of the hotel but in fact is just as close depending on what part of the car park you are in. The wheelchair accessible spaces are located in this car park but do happen to be around the other side of the hotel for ease of access to the second entrance into the hotel. These spaces are the closest of any car parking spaces to any of the hotels entrances.

Originionally when the hotel was opened our Reception was located on the 1st Floor so all guest checking in would have to either take the main staircase or one of the 3 lobby lifts to the 1st floor. We recently invested a significant sum to make reception more accessible to all guests by moving this to the 1st floor so it now can be accessed from either of the 2 entrances to the hotel. The entrance at the business park side or the entrance which has 4 wheelchair accessible parking spaces is just a mere 5-10m from the door which leads to reception.

I hope that we will be able to welcome you back to the Cork International Hotel in the near future and in the mean time if there is any further feedback or if we can assist in any way please do let me know. We will look at improving the directional signage to these spaces immediately.

Kind Regards

Carmel Lonergan
