Cork Racecourse Mallow

This should have been posted a week ago, but had some technical difficulties! So here it is!

Easter Sunday was Ladies day at Cork Racecourse Mallow as part of the Racing Home for Easter Festival.  Myself, Henry (my husband) & Henry’s Parents headed over to it.  The Rain was pouring down but we didn’t leave that dampen our spirits, despite the fact my lovely dress was still hanging in the wardrobe.

We went over early to get a space as close to the gate as possible as Mary uses a walking stick.  There are wheelchair spaces available at the door, and someone is on the gate to open them to leave the car in just show your badge to them!

The entrance is all wheelchair accessible as is the grounds themselves, there is plenty of room around the parade ring to get a good look at the horses.  In the Main buiding there is a lift to get to the other two floors! There is also a lift in the Pavillion Grandstand

On the day itself the racecourse had a Marquee to showcase all the fashion and there was music there too.  There was a ramp into this for wheelchair users which was good to see! While dad was not with us on this particulary trip to the races it was great to see so many wheelchair users there on the day despite the weather. Wheelchair toilets are available.
